"Choose a job you love , and you will never have to work a day in your life ." - Confucius
I work part time at my local hairdresses and it really sucks :/ But then again , i'm only 15 so I only sweep , make tea and shampoo . But I could not see myself doing it all my life .. it'd just be so boring ! And so today I was talking to my art teacher and she was telling me how much she loved her job , and it didn't even feel like a job to her . I then heard this quote later on in the day and I just felt like I had to make a photo from it .
I would do something in art but mostly everyone in my family is in healthcare (my mom's side is all Filipino so the pressure is alot) I respect nursing but its not for me. I keep hearing that I'll be a starving artist, and that its too competitive, and that employers will never hire me, mostly from my parents and some of my family members yet my friends and cousins say to try something in art. This is going to be a hard decision.
I know exactly how you feel . I'd love to do something with art as i'm really good at it , but my parents are really pushy and want me to aim high because they don't want me to have a bad job and struggle in life because being an artist is hard and competitive . I know they're doing it for my benefit , but they want me to do law and i'm really not sure if I'll even like it ): sigh .
I don't know about law isn't that one a dying job? I mean I've heard stories and read articles about law school grads that have complained to their school because they couldn't find a job. I don't know about now though but employers might still be picky with who they hire.
I see where this Confucius fella is coming from, but I don't totally agree. I think a lot of people, especially nowadays with the internet and alternative resources, have found dream jobs, but they still put in lots of work (sometimes more than those with standard jobs). I think what it does though, is it makes it way easier to work way harder.
i've got enough experience in working some job only because of the financial side so i know the feeling... i wish you someday to get such a job that you'll never have to WORK anymore!:]
It's still a catchy saying
