"Mistakes are proof that you're trying ."

Don't feel disheartened if you fail the first time at trying something . Mistakes are really good as we learn from them , and when we try again , we can take what we learned and apply it to the situation . When you try and try again , it really does show you care and that you're trying . It could be getting a bad grade in an exam and then studying harder to get a better grade . It could be falling off your skateboard the first time you ride it and then keep practicing to get your balance right so you don't fall off again . Whatever it is , mistakes are good . The more mistakes you make , the closer you are to your achievement .

Last week I had three days off school as it was shut for open days - you'd think with all this free time I'd study more at home .. PAHAHA NOPE I'VE LITERALLY BEEN SLEEPING AND RE-READING THE HUNGER GAMES TRILOGY . But now I've just got more homework to do omg Erin why do you do this to yourself . Ah well , I'll get round to it somehow , but now I need to get ready for work wahoo hope you like the photo guys , I'm still trying to find new ways to do quotes and the sky looked nice and blue today so yep .

HAVE A NICE DAY , YOU ADORABLE LITTLE CUTIES
please don't mind me I've just had coffee

I struggle with this, quite frankly.  As a perfectionist, I have little tolerance for my own mistakes.  But between taking Irish dance and swimming lessons this summer, I have had to recognize that what matters is not how perfectly I do, but how much I improve from lesson to lesson.  Since I am not very coordinated, learning these two skills has been extremely difficult for me, and I have looked like an idiot on more than one occasion.  But that is okay.  I am still doing better than I was at the beginning, and I am definitely doing better than those who have not even bothered to try, so there is some satisfaction in that

Oh man I know what it's like - I am a huge perfectionist too so I know how it feels :aww: I used to do a lot of artwork (drawing and painting and such) and was very critical on myself for making the tiniest mistakes on my work. I've recently started doing driving lessons and I'm getting the same feelings all over again - critising myself for making mistakes. But i've realised that mistakes are just part of the process for literally anything, so I must accept them, learn from them and move on (:

There's a fine line when it comes to dealing with mistakes.  On the one hand, we can disregard them completely, but that means we don't learn from them.  On the other, we can become so focused on NOT making them, that we inhibit our ability TO learn.  So there's definitely a balance that has to be found.

I hope your driving lessons go well.  I hit a mailbox on my first outing with an instructor.  I don't think she believed me at first when I told her I'd never operated a car before, ever.  (But she did afterward, lol.)

That's actually very very true when you state it like that :aww:
Ahaha oh no! As if you hit a mailbox omg :giggle: luckily in england we don't have the same mailboxes you go as we have them on our front door aha - but I have almost hit another car (whoops) that was quite scary

Well, it is a good thing I did not hit a mailbox there, because that would basically mean I'd run into someone's front door :hmm:  That would have been much worse than what I did!  And I have almost hit other cars as well.  It is definitely a scary experience!
